Among and Apart
For the latter part of 2024 I felt the need to work in brighter colors, and I wanted to work faster, with more energy and a bit of chaos and chance. I turned to acrylics on pre-stretched canvases, adding in other media such as charcoal, pastels and colored pencils. Tools included brushes, squeegees, rollers, and fabric. With these simple intentions and tools I found my paintings evolving to lots of colors and shapes - both geometric and human, a reflection of my mostly urban life in 2024 USA. These are the first completed paintings in this series, more to come.
