Boundaries

Boundaries define physical, spiritual and emotional entities, often invisibly. Boundaries shift, sometimes quickly, but usually quite slowly; often we are not aware of these movements until a significant change takes place.

In this series I use geometry and angles, along with color, texture, shape and lines, to explore and express the boundaries that join and separate us. The layering qualities of oil and cold wax provide the visual concepts of time and history with marks, scratches and overlays of color and texture.
